About
Jessica Kleffner draws places in passing: clubs that still exist or are already gone, Berlin streets and corners, airports, petrol stations, the sky above a club at dawn. Many drawings carry a date and a place, kept like entries in a diary on the move, from Berlin to Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles and New York.
She is drawn to the everyday and the incidental: signs, machines, a situation that will not happen the same way again. Some of these places have since disappeared. The drawings hold on to moments of constant change.
She holds a diploma from the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) and an MA from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). She lives and works in Berlin.
